Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway

Take a ride on the world’s steepest water-powered funicular to get from Lynmouth at the bottom to Lynton, perched 500 ft above, at the top. Enjoy fabulous views of the North Devon coastline at the top, and indulge in a cream tea, before taking the cliff railway back down to Lynmouth nestled by the harbour at the bottom of the cliff.

The Big Sheep

A great day out for the whole family, although this is technically classed as a theme park, the main draw of The Big Sheep is the sheep! With a huge indoor play area, a great pet corner, quad bikes, and even laser tag, this amazing outdoor theme park is the perfect place to laugh and make memories.

Tapeley Park & Gardens

The Tapeley Park grounds are renowned for their beautiful gardens, particularly the Italian terraces, and include a lake, ponds, old woodland and a number of fields where Tapeley’s herd of Highland cattle graze. As well as a sizeable organic vegetable garden, Tapeley Park has one of the oldest permaculture gardens in the UK.

Throughout the year, Tapeley hosts events – from open air theatre and weekend festival events to dog shows and choral performances – and details of upcoming events can be found on the Tapeley Park Information Facebook page.

RHS Rosemoor

Nestled in the North Devon Torridge Valley, Rosemoor is an enchanting place to visit and blends formal and informal planting to magical effect.

They host hundreds of events all year round – there is something for everyone. The Rosemoor Flower Show and spectacular Glow are just some of the experiences you won’t want to miss.

Clovelly

The ancient fishing village of Clovelly is a must-visit if you’re looking for things to do in North Devon. A traditional fishing village with charming cobbled streets leading down to a beautiful old harbour. One of the prettiest villages in the UK with tiny fishermen’s cottages bedecked in flowers lining the narrow route down to the harbour. The only form of transport are donkeys…yes we’re serious.

Hartland Abbey

Steeped in history, Hartland Abbey is situated in a peaceful valley. You can enjoy not only the beautiful house and gardens and a wonderful woodland walk to Atlantic Cove, but also a museum, while the gardens feature peacocks, black sheep and delicious Devon cream teas!

You don’t need to be super-fit or athletic to have a great time and anyone can do it. A great way to explore the beautiful North Devon Coastline.

Lundy Island

A day trip to Lundy makes for an unforgettable experience. Although only three miles in length, and half-a-mile wide, the Island offers an amazingly diverse range of things to do for day-trippers. Its 4,000 years of human history comes to life through the 42 scheduled monuments and its clutch of listed buildings.
