As summer draws closer that means one thing, festivals. North Devon has some fantastic festivals throughout the summer seasons. So we have put together a festival checklist to help make sure your experience is the best is can possibly be!
The festival must-haves:
- Festival ticket
- Money – Avoid charges and long waits in the queue at the cash point
- ID – Most festivals require you bring a form of ID for a various different reasons
- Accommodation documents – Always bring a printed copy of a booking confirmation
- Tent
- Sleeping bag and pillow – Consider bringing an extra blanket too
- Yoga mat or air mattresses – helps prevent sore backs as well as keeps you warm
- Torch
- Portable charger
- Fold up chair – It sounds like an extra load to carry but you will be grateful first thing in the morning when the grass is wet with morning dew
- Toiletries – including toilet roll
- Sun cream and after sun – For those who didn’t apply the sun cream!
- Waterproof clothing
- Wellies
- Paracetamol – For the sore heads
- Extra sets of warm clothes – temperatures tend to drop late at night
- Bag to put dirty clothes
* Festival tip: Mark any valuables with house name and postcode if lost *
The cooking essentials:
- Stove – always check the campsite regulations (See our regulations here)
- Cooking pan and utensils
- Cutlery
- Tin opener
- Water
- Lighter
- Bin bags
- Food for meals and food for snacks
* Festival cooking tip: Don’t bring large seasoning pots and save space. Use a pill organiser as a portable spice rack! *
The fun extras:
- Glow sticks – they are fun at the festival but also useful when trying to find your tent
- Biodegradable glitter
- Sunglasses
- Playing cards – For those chilled out afternoons before going into the festival
- Camera – Digital or disposable they are great to capture for festival pics
- Flag
