We are so fortunate to be located near beautiful coastal and countryside spots in North Devon, however, if you get a little tired of walking through heather-covered moorland and lazing on golden sandy beaches then you might like to visit some of the local family attractions in North Devon. Here are some we’d recommend on your trip:
Exmoor Zoo
This award-winning zoo on the edge of Exmoor is a crowd-pleasing day trip for the whole family. Get up close to an exciting range of wildlife from around the world, including the the only pair of black leopards on exhibit in the UK.
The BIG Sheep
Little ones will love a day trip to The BIG Sheep. Rollercoasters, dodgems, farmyard animals and an indoor play area all feature. Just don’t forget to place your bets on the popular sheep racing.
The Milky Way
The Milky Way has North Devon’s biggest indoor play area, with assault courses and slides built for adults and children. There is also thrilling live shows, a birds of prey centre and rollercoasters.
Watermouth Castle
A beautiful Victorian castle with an eclectic collection of treasures to look at as well as a dungeon labyrinth, water show, rides for children and landscaped gardens.

Ilfracombe Aquarium

Lynton and Barnstaple Railway
Travel back in time by taking an idyllic ride through the picturesque Exmoor countryside on a beautifully restored steam powered train, complete with heritage carriages.
Quince Honey Farm
Take a behind the scenes look at the life of bees and discover how their hives operate in the world’s largest honeybee exhibition. Afterward, let the kids have some fun in the indoor play area while you sample some of the fruits of the honeybees’ labour.
North Devon Wake Park
Children more of the outdoors-y type? Then they’ll love the North Devon Wake Park, offering adrenaline-spiked adventures on water, from wakeboarding and paddleboarding to volleyball and slacklining. Described as being similar to ‘skateboarding on water’, everyone will have fun at this lake-skate-park.
